DNS CNAMEs Using @ As The Host Value

Posted on September 4, 2014

Hi folks,

I’ve got my primary domain setup with an A record like so:

A @ 12.34.56.78

And I’d like to add some subdomains, which I’ve tried to do like so:

CNAME www @
CNAME docs @

The assumption I’m working with is that since the ‘@’ is setup as an A record, I should be able to use it as the target of a CNAME record?

However, it’s not working. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi!

If you’re still having issues with DNS propagation, please go ahead and open a support ticket so that the team is aware of the situation. The previous issue with the DNS service should be resolved.
