Yes, I believe that you’ll still need to add a valid credit or debit card to verify your account before you can claim the $200 student credit.
It’s just for verification, you won’t be charged unless you go over the free credit limit.

yes, you need a valid payment method, Paypal or a credit card otherwise you can’t apply for the credit.
You don’t need a credit card to activate the $200 GitHub Student Pack credit — just link your GitHub account to DigitalOcean through the student offer page, and the credit will be added automatically once verified.
