Help with incremental function builds

Posted on March 10, 2024

Hi,

I deploy functions with doctl serverless deploy . --remote-build but this can take a long time, especially when I have multiple functions. When I add --incremental I get Error: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'packageVersions'), and I can’t find any documentation on how to get this to work.

Thanks.

Hey!

It sounds like that this might be indeed a problem with doctl itself.

What you could do is to submit this as an issue on the doctl repository providing as much infmraotion as possible about the problem:

https://github.com/digitalocean/doctl/issues

In the meantime, you could try using the watch command instead:

doctl serverless watch . --remote-build

It will run until interrupted. It will watch the directory (which should be one you initialized for serverless development) and will deploy the contents to the cloud incrementally as it detects changes.

Let me know how it goes!

Best,

Bobby
