How come my local working directory is the same as my remote working directory? Trying to use SFTP.

Posted on August 11, 2015

I’m trying to figure out how to use SFTP to transfer files. I’m trying to find the files I want to upload. Every time I try pwd and** lpwd** to view my remote and local working directories respectively, both commands produce the same directories. From what I understand, they should not be the same. From my local directory, I expect to be able to access my C: drive where I saved my files for uploading into the digital ocean remote server but I can’t seem to find the files I want to upload.

I would love an answer to this…I’m having the same issue.

You might want to try Cyberduck which is a free, cross-platform GUI SFTP client.
