How do i connect to my vps?

Posted on October 14, 2019

When i open the console, and ssh root my ip in, it immediately asks for my password, and then stops allowing me to input any text into said console, how do i fix?? Ubuntu 18.04.3 (LTS) x64. (p.s it asks for login, then password.)

Hello, @dahlythedolly

May I ask if you’ve added your ssh key in your control panel? IF you haven’t added your key yet, please follow this articles:

Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi there @dahlythedolly ,

It sounds like a common “starters issue”. From experience, I can say I had this the first few years as well. Are you using PuTTy?

If so, the console will be black / blank at the moment you put in your password. However…this is just to protect you from people looking over your shoulder. You are actually typing some stuff in there ;)

If this is not the case, please clarify the question a bit more.
