Hi all,
Does anyone have a command on hand which could show the remote URL of a specific local git repository?
I usually use the cat command to check the content of the .git/config and look for the remote origin section in there.
But is there a better way of doing this?

Hi there,
Yes, checking the .git/config file is a good way to go, but here are a couple of other commands that you could use as well:
- You could use the
git configcommand to get a specific value from your Git config file:
- git config --get remote.origin.url
- The following will show you all of your remote URLs:
- git remote -v
- To want to get more information about the remote repository, you could use the following command:
- git remote show origin
