How to use owncloud with remote domain with SSL installed

Posted on July 25, 2015

So I’ve got a new digitalocean owncloud server, and its all setup, with digitaloceans ip address.

I want to use my own domain name, which has ssl already installed.

instead of typing http://ipaddress/ to access it, i want to type https://mydomain.com to get to the owncloud log in screen.

Is this possible? is it done thru DNS?

Will the owncloud server be protected with SSL certification if my domain has it installed?

No, it would not be protected with SSL/TSL. A Certificate is installed on a Server and not on a Domain, so i need to know if you use Apache, NGINX … to help you

@admin58309bbc1e you need to ask Hostgator if they have a download link for your SSL/TSL .crt and .key file.
