Question

How to write to log or STDOUT from PHP Function running in App Platform

I have a (serverless) function written in PHP, deployed as as an App on the App platform.

I need to debug it in the deployed production instance.

Can I just use echo to output to STDOUT. If so, where can I see the output?

Heya @russellhutsonjp

You can view activity, build, deployment, and runtime logs in App Platform using the control panel, CLI, and API. You can also enable log forwarding to forward application logs to external log providers.

Rather than echoing STDOUT, you can use the error_log function to log messages.

You can check the Runtime log: records messages and errors emitted by the app and its components while running. These logs can be useful for troubleshooting issues with the application’s logic or functionality.

Hope that this helps!
