Install 1-click wordpress on existing droplet, possible?

Posted on December 12, 2022

Hello community,

I would like to install wordpress on an existing droplet. Is there a way to apply the 1-click Marketplace App? I am new to Servers and CMS etc. and would appreciate to first have a clean install. I did install a LAMP Stack already, I had not seen this possibility, that is why I wonder now what is possible.

Hi,

If you already have a LAMP stack on the server, then it’s not recommended to install an OLS WP script or image on it. It’s better to launch a new OLS WP Server, then migrate your site(s) to it.

Hi there,

The Marketplace 1-Click installation is used for creating new servers.

You can follow the steps here on how to add a second website to an existing server:

Let me know how it goes!

Hello, @sigmab3

DigitalOcean’s One-Click Install Apps allow you to spin up a Droplet with certain features pre-installed. It is an image on top of an OS.

If you want to use the 1 click install application droplet, simply spin up a new droplet.

For manual installation, you can check this tutorial

And for hosting multiple websites on a droplet you can check out Bobby’s video, it is amazing.
