Hello,
I originally registered on Digital Ocean through a referral link and received a small amount of credit. Then, I was approved for the GitHub Student Developer pack, which contains an additional promo credit for Digital Ocean.
How can I apply the Student Developer Pack promo code? When I attempt to insert it into the promo code input on my profile page, it says the code is incorrect and not available for my account at this time. It seems silly that I will have to create an entirely new account just because I had a digital ocean account prior to getting the student developer pack.

Creating a new account should lead to an immediate ban of both your new and current account. The correct way to resolve this is not to violate the ToS but rather to contact support directly, via a support ticket or contact@digitalocean.com.
Recent Update- I was following this question as I was in same situation (Received GitHub pack but already had an account with DO) So, I followed @ryanpq & @gparent advice and did contact DO support team by generating a ticket And I’m really glad I did that! They helped me real quick & fortunately, I got my $50 credits in addition to the credits I already had in my account :)
DO’s support team sure is Amazing! I’m really thankful to them.

If you navigate to your billing page you should be able to see a link which says Apply Promo Code.
In order to activate your package you need to get your personal unique code and also to add a valid payment method to your DigitalOcean’s account (credit/debit card) or add some funds using PayPal.
Please note that you have taken advantage of a different promo code at some prior point each account is only allowed to use one promo code during it’s lifetime.
