Yes, you can deploy Laravel 8 on a Droplet. You could either do the installation manually by following the steps here:
Or as an alternative you could use this automation tool here called LaraSail:

As another option, you could also deploy Laravel on the new DigitalOcean App Platform as described in this video here:
