For nearly a year I have been using Digital Ocean to power the nameservers of my new domain company, Mother.Domains. We have quite enjoyed the quality of service.
We’re in the midst of finishing up our beta developments, and I’ve mapped out a few possibilities to accomplish several of our unique requirements. Most options use WHMCS automation software.
What I’d like to accomplish is this:
Client successfully orders a new domain
An “index.php” page is created by WHMCS for that domain, with necessary A/www records pointing at it. That means, after the domain propagates, visiting that domain would bring up the “coming soon” content as generated in that index.php page - it is essential each domain can have a custom index.php page, otherwise this would be a more straightforward set up
Bonus would be the ability to somehow forward all domain emails to an address specified
My main alternative is cpanel/WHM based, and I’d like to avoid that altogether if possible at this early post-registration stage.
All thoughts, wisdom, wizardry welcome.
Best,
Sea

Generally something like that would be easier on cPanel as well, WHMCS just works with cPanel. That and you can see default dates.
Yes, I understand cPanel is going to come a cost but you have to ask yourself, is it worth it? Hopefully your answer will come back with yes.
