Hi there, I’d like to put my project on hold and pause my DO subscription for a while but not lose my project and data. What are the steps I should follow to make sure it stays there? :) I don’t expect it to be online and serving traffic, I just need to be able to restore it when I want, I don’t want the data to be lost.

Hi there,
In addition to what has already been mentioned, indeed snapshot would be the way to go. That way you will not have to pay for the full Droplet price but only for the snapshot itself. The snapshot cost is based on the space used and is charged at a rate of $0.05/GB per month.

You can create a SNAPSHOT of your Droplet. Snapshots are on-demand disk images of DigitalOcean Droplets and volumes saved to your account. Use them to create new Droplets and volumes with the same contents. More about Snapshots can be read here:
