The weird thing is there is only one A name record for timcomp.com which points to my droplets ip address and then the www.timcomp.com is a cname that points back to timcomp.com. I’ve checked my apache conf for the site listing ServerName timcomp.com and ServerAlias www.timcomp.com however still it only resolves a page if it’s typed as www.timcomp.com.

Currently both timcomp.com and www.timcomp.com does seem to work. It seems like your domain was still propagation.
DNS propagation however unlikely can run up to 24 hours so it wasn’t actually somekind of a problem. We’ve get accustomed to 2-3 hours of propagation and even less however the reality as I mentioned is it can take up to 24 hours.
Nevertheless,I’m glad to see your website working!
