Setting up mail server on CentOS Web Panel

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to set up the mail server for my CentOS web panel installation and so far I’ve got everything working. I can send and receive emails but my sent email is always sent to the spam folder. I’ve done some research and I’ve come to the conclusion that I need to set up SPF and DKIM for my domain. How exactly would I do this with Digital Ocean (I use them to manage my domain)?

Any helps appreciated.

Hello friend!

SPF can definitely help here. DKIM has a marginal impact, and I personally feel that impact isn’t worth it’s complexity, but it’s certainly something you can do. To set up your SPF record, try using this guide:

For DKIM, I found this guide for CentOS Web Panel:

You’re going to need to take the DNS record created by that software and add it to our DNS panel if you use us for DNS. There may be no easy way to explain that process.

I also recommend using this to help give you reasons why your email might land in spam folders:

Hope that helps a bit :)
