Loving using the new DigitalOcean Spaces as a beautiful and cost effective replacement for S3.
However, I’m wondering if there are any plans to offer an event-driven code execution service like Amazon AWS Lambda to Spaces?
My main use case is to automatically handle the heavy processes of image resizing/manipulation to prevent it from blocking threads on my API servers.
Even if there was perhaps some folder-based rules GUI, which allows developers to set image resize rules for any image file uploaded to a particular Spaces folder, that’d be pretty damn neat…!

Happy to hear that you are enjoying spaces, unfortunately at this time there is no plan for an AWS lambda type service.
We’ve rolled out a significant number of new features and products in 2017 and also have a number of large releases planned for 2018. As part of that to help keep customers informed we’ve also added blog posts that give customers more of an insight into the future roadmap.
Doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s set in stone, but it does provide guidance. If there’s a particular feature or product that you want then definitely add it to UserVoice or up vote an existing entry if it’s there.
