Hi, i’m new to using DNS and i’m confused on how i’d set up a subdomain to point to another server, to be a little bit more specific, i already have a website on the www(dot)example(dot)com up and running but now i want to create email(dot)example(dot)com but have that direct to another server that specifically handles email. Is this just impossible or am i overlooking something very simple?

It’s actually very simple. Just add an A record for email(dot)example(dot)com to your DNS settings to point to your new server IP address that will be hosting the email(dot)example(dot)com subdomain. Good luck. :)
