Website speed: DO, Code Igniter

Hi there,

I’ve installed a CodeCanyon(stack posts) CodeIgniter script on the basic Digital Ocean droplet.

I have the main website: Domain registered at a Romanian company, the server has multiple extensions installed and it’s set up as per script specification, larger database (demo accounts and test posts), multiple dns settings (mail etc)

and a staging one (same code) Registered at NameCheap, no extensions installed, no setup.

Even if the code is the same, the main website is painfully slow compared with the staging one. I even increased the subscription plan for the main server but with no effect.

I have no idea where to start fixing the issue, already tried hiring a freelancer that minified some files but end up braking some website functionalities.

Kind regards, Constantin

Hi @militaruconstantin,

I just loaded the website and I got to say, it loaded pretty fast for me. Having said that, it really depends from where you are loading the website and which server.

Additionally, you might want to look into optimizing both your website and droplet. In regards to the droplet, you can add some server caching such as Opcache or something similar. Additionally, maybe you can start using redis or memcache for a caching agent of your website.

Lastly, give this link a look :
