Question

What you be intrested in a guide to converting a DigitalOcean droplet to a "traditional" or "classic" VPS with IPS, firewall, cPanel, etc. ?

I’m curious if the community would be interested in a guide converting a DigitalOcean droplet to a conventional VPS for web hosting.

This would include all your basic VPS features.

  • cPanel (DNS, email, subdomains, etc)
  • IPS
  • Firewall
  • Web FTP

etc.

Just out of curiosity :)

Hello, riahc4

cPanel/WHM is also available in our Marketplace and you can quickly deploy it via one click.

cPanel/WHM is a third party application managed through our Marketplace. New installations of cPanel come with a 15 day free trial. For further use beyond that point a valid license will need to be purchased directly through cPanel. https://store.cpanel.net/view/cpanel/license-options?type=VPS

Hope this helps! Regards, Alex

We do offer a guide on setting up cPanel though it is a bit old. Generally we prefer to focus on open source technologies in our guides.

We work with a lot of community authors through our “Get Paid To Write” program. The form there is currently shut down during the holidays but I’d urge you to check back and reach out to our Editorial team.
