I’m moving our site to a new server. The site on our old shared hosting works great, it’s just a little slow.
The problem I’m having is that after installing unbuntu/apache on the new server and transfering the site over, everything works great as long as I’m not using www in the wordpress settings.
When I switch to www, there is a redirect error: ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS
I’ve created a server with the hostname signa.com as an a record and www as a cname record.
How can I figure out where the non www redirect is coming from?
I’ve tried to get help from the company I’m using for the server but they aren’t able to solve this.
The live site is on our old host for now, so for Local testing of the new server, add this to your local host file:
159.203.63.97 signa.com
wp_options in the db is both set to http://www.signa.com
curl -I www.signa.com HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently Date: Tue, 05 Jul 2016 11:05:27 GMT Server: Apache/2.4.7 (Ubuntu) Location: http://www.signa.com/ Content-Type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1
Virtual Host file:
```
# The ServerName directive sets the request scheme, hostname and port that
# the server uses to identify itself. This is used when creating
# redirection URLs. In the context of virtual hosts, the ServerName
# specifies what hostname must appear in the request's Host: header to
# match this virtual host. For the default virtual host (this file) this
# value is not decisive as it is used as a last resort host regardless.
# However, you must set it for any further virtual host explicitly.
#ServerName www.example.com
# For most configuration files from conf-available/, which are
