Why i can't type anything on Command Line while my cursor at Password?

Hello, My name is Frans. I am new on Digital Ocean. I want to learn something about uBuntu.

I have an issue with the PuTTY Command Line. I can’t type and stopped at Password Line.

Any advice for that?

It’s not a problem and you have not done anything wrong.

It’s normal NOT to see anything when entering a password.

It’s a security feature in Linux/UNIX (Ubuntu) not to show the **** when entering passwords.

You can still type, you just won’t see what you type at the password prompt.

Press Enter and if the password is OK your can go on as normal, if not it will tell you and you can try the password again.

Linux does not show asterisks when you enter passwords.
