Will my DO droplet cache my website files?

Posted on February 27, 2020

I’m having problems developing one of my websites. I believe the problem is cache related. It’s likely due to the CDN that I’m using, but I want to check to ask if DO cache my droplet files in any way?

Thanks,

Jake

@jakemeah how did you configure your web server? the Droplet comes blank by default, and even LAMP isn’t installed, so we need more information about your stack (LAMP/LEMP, Memcache/Redis?) to have a better idea of what could be cached, or not.

To bypass cloudflare, you can simply edit your host file and access the DO droplet directly that way.

For in-memory cache, a reboot should wipe the cache. For disk-based caching, you’ll need to purge the cached data. We don’t know enough at this point.

Hello @jakemeah ,

DigitalOcean Droplets won’t cache any of your files, unless you set a cache-control header. And this can be a problem of your CDN provider. If you don’t mind list more information,we would love to check the detail.
