I followed exactly all steps in the following tutorial: https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-install-wordpress-with-nginx-on-ubuntu-14-04
I also read the comments where various command are stated like:
sudo chgrp -R www-data /var/www/html
But after trying any of those I still am not able to upload theme files, or download plugins. Media works fine, but for plugins and themes I’d really prefer to use the options within the dashboard.
I keep receiving the pop-up that I have to enter my ftp credentials or SSH info.
Also another thing I noticed in the guide: Shouldn’t we remove the wordpress which we downloaded to our user account? Now we basically have two wordpress installs and the zip file on the server. Seems wasted space, but I’m not full expert on it, so should we remove this?
I hope someone can help, thanks

After writing:
sudo chown www-data:www-data /var/www/html/ -Rit seemed to fix the problem. However would this impose any security issues?
