Ant media server configuration/provisioning

Posted on July 16, 2020

It looks like it’s easy to create a droplet that includes Ant Media server. I would like to know how to configure / provision that droplet. I’m trying to set up a livestreaming server for a local yoga studio. Expecting to stream 5 hour-long classes/day, 6 days a week. Viewers currently pop in an out: typically for each class about 30 viewers will view 15+ minutes, while about 20 will watch 2-3 minutes only. The owner hopes to triple these numbers within 12-18 months.

I currently have 3 droplets used as webservers, I’m a fairly adept with that, but I’m totally new to livestreaming. So I would also appreciate hearing any Pro Tips or gotchas. I’m considering Ant Media only because it shows up as a DigitalOcean option. I’m happy to install a different platform if there’s a better. I’m also doing a mental cost/benefit of my own server vs Vimeo-Livestream and other platforms.
