I’m working with microservices that are low CPU and fairly heavy on RAM at 150MB each.
I’ve been hosting these on the 1vCPU 3GB instances but with monitoring and mesh DemonSets eating half of that - I’m getting very little value per additional instance.
What’s with the lack of budget instance types with >3GB/core?
I presume this is something do do with business model but I’m finding what was supposed to be a hobbyist cluster keeps growing and is not giving me any cost advantage being on Digital Ocean.
I’m not sure where DO is positioning itself but I didn’t see any 8GB machines under $60/mo.
Any thoughts on this?
