My git account (github.com/pde-bakk) is a PRO account and I would like to redeem the $50 DigitalOcean credit, but I can’t see how.

If you navigate to your billing page you should be able to see a link which says Apply Promo Code. Please note that you have taken advantage of a different promo code at some prior point each account is only allowed to use one promo code during it’s lifetime.

Hello, @pdebakk

In order to activate your package you need to get your personal unique code and also to add a valid payment method to your DigitalOcean’s account (credit/debit card) or add some funds using PayPal.

Also as per Moisey’s reply each account is only allowed to use one promo code during it’s lifetime.

  • I just signed up for Digital Ocean and am want to redeem my student discount. I followed this link: https://www.digitalocean.com/github-students/ and signed up and then went to the billing page only to find no where to input my promo code. As you say on this thread you can only use 1 promo code per account. Turns out I signed up with some other promo which gives me $100 free for 60 days. When I signed up there was NO obvious option to disable this discount nor did I realise that it would invalidate me from redeeming my student discount.

I would much prefer to use my student discount as it gives me $100 for a year rather than 60 days. Is there a way for me to disable my current promo and enable the student one?

In our public community, we aim to answer open questions about anything SysAdmin, DigitalOcean and beyond. However, we make every attempt to keep personal information safe and so don’t ever access personal account information here. This means we can’t provide help with any account or billing-related issues.
