How exactly DO charge my droplet usage?

Posted on April 21, 2020

Hi, I’m newbie in VPS and start to learn about it. This may be a simple question but not for me. DO charge droplet as what we use with a cap. Let’s say I take package of $40/mo or $0.06/hr. Could you please elaborate what activities contribute to the charges? Really thank you for your support.

Hi there,

Droplet billing is pretty easy: for every hour that your Droplet exists on your account, you will be billed the hourly rate (eg. $0.06/hr).

This will increase for every hour your Droplet exists in a month until you hit the listed monthly price (eg. $40/mo).

Please note that other charges may be incurred for additional usages, such as a bandwidth overage charge if you consume more bandwidth than the allowance on your account.

Our product docs cover our billing in detail: https://www.digitalocean.com/docs/billing/

Hope that helps! - Matt.
