If you wish to remove the card from your account and pay via PayPal instead, you’d have to add PayPal credits equal to, or greater than your current usage on the account.
It’s simple to make a payment via PayPal on DigitalOcean. Here’s how you can do that:

Navigate to your payment methods page: https://cloud.digitalocean.com/settings/billing

Under Payment Methods, select the PayPal tab.

Select the amount that you would like to add to your account

Select the Pay Now button. This will prompt you to sign into PayPal and confirm the amount.
Please note that PayPal payments are not recurring. Thus we request you maintain a credit balance on your account equal to or greater than your monthly droplet cost. We will send an automated reminder if your balance gets too low.
