Recommended setup for web stats system

Posted on October 16, 2014

Hi, I have a couple of wordpress sites, one of them gets about 200,000 pageviews monthly and I want to install the wordpress plugin “slimstats”, which is a stats system.

This stats system saves all the data in a mysql database.

The reason i want to use this stats system is because it has an API I can use to track custom events, like user interactions, besides it´s open source. This is very important for my business.

Can you recommend me a setup that allows that kind of tracking?

I think it should be able to handle about 500,000 interactions.

Hi Jose!

I don’t have much experience with the Slimstat plugin for Wordpress, but judging from the listed system requirements you shouldn’t have any problems. Any system that can handle a WordPress installation should be able to handle the additional plugin. It claims to only require 4 Mb of extra free PHP memory.
