App Platform Basic Auth

Is it possible to add http basic auth to a app platform app. If so how would you do it. If it matters I’m using a static site on the starter plan.

Not currently. Though we have heard from the community that password protected sites and apps are wanted and we have plans to implement this feature in 2021 though I don’t have a public timeline to share with you.

I don’t think that this is available out of the box at the moment.
The best thing to do to get your voice heard regarding this would be to head over to our Product Ideas board and post a new idea, including as much information as possible for what you’d like to see implemented.
For the time being, you could implement the authentication logic in your application itself directly.
