Static Sites do not support prebuilt Docker images. App Platform must build the Dockerfile for you and then it can publish it as a Static Site. To do that, you’ll need to place your Dockerfile in a git repo and then create a Static Site component using that repo.
Keep in mind that all the required files should be created during the build. For example, if the command that generates the files is npm run build
, then you need it have it as RUN npm run build
in your Dockerfile, and not CMD npm run build
.

What I could suggest is to use the DigitalOcean Spaces to store your static files on. That way when your container gets recreated after deployment the existing static files will not be lost.
