CDN (Content Delivery Network) Spaces Cache Problem

Hi our spaces CDN (Content Delivery Network) Edge Cache TTL is set to 1 hr. Having deleted an image 3 days ago it still appears on the internet?

I cleared my local cache, used a different browser and even tried mobile devices on a completely different connection I was still able to see the deleted image? I also tried proxy browsers and VPN connections as if I was a new user viewing the image for the first time. Yet the image was visible.

I then had to manually purge cache for the folder where the file was sitting in which did the trick.

Am I doing something wrong?

The TTL value for both DNS and a lot of Web cache is a recommendation, it is often not strictly followed depending on the browser and other items. If there is an update of the underlying file it will certainly get updated but if there was no update, the TTL value may not be strictly respected. Depending on your use case if you want to ensure that a deleted file is not served, what you did by purging the cache, is the preferred method to ensure that deleted files are 100% removed.
