Hi there,
I would jump in this discussion too. I would also prefer WordPress just because I am already familiar with it and there are a lot of free plugins like WooCommerce which would turn your WordPress website into an online store.
Here are some of the main advantages of the two that you might want to consider:
WordPress Advantages
Joomla Advantages
Hope that this helps. Best, Bobby
Hello, @yn1400tj
I’ll always prefer WordPress over Joomla. They’re both not specifically designed for commerce, but WordPress has a bigger community and this will give you access to more plugins for building an e-commerce site, more information and articles/videos on how to achieve this.
You can also check CMSs like Magento that are specifically designed as an eCommerce platform. We also have a one-click install application for both Magento and WordPress.

Hi @yn1400tj,
Yes, I do think WordPress is better. It’s true WordPress’s main function is not a shop while Joomla is but WordPress has a lot of plugins and it’s generally more used than Joomla which makes it easier to use in case something breaks.
Not to mention there are a lot more Developers on WordPress rather than Joomla which I also think it’s a plus. So yes, in my experience WordPress is better and I’ll recommend it.
What I’ll recommend you to check is Magento as well. It’s a really good shop CMS as well.
