The $5 verification charge is not actually a fee. It’s a temporary hold to make sure the payment method is valid, and it gets released back to you automatically. It can take a few days. You won’t be charged for it.

If you used PayPal, you’ll see a $5 authorization when linking your account, which is just to verify the payment method (docs).
