This question was answered by @geggleton:

Well this question will have no correct answer and without seeing the database and how much space is require, it is literally not possible to give an accurate answer.

I maintain a database with less than 10 million records on the cheapest droplet, but I could see how a medical record database would use much more disk space than what I do.

Is there any way to can tell us the disk size of the database? This is really the only limiting factor.

Also consider how much of that data is IN-USE on a daily basis. InnoDB likes to have lots of memory to lower the Disk I/O. Droplets currently do not have a way to extend the RAM, so take that into consideration as well.

Hello, all

Choosing the right Droplet plan depends on your workload. An oversized Droplet would underuse its resources and cost more, but an undersized Droplet running at full CPU or memory would suffer from degraded performance or errors.

You can also resize a Droplet to a larger plan after creation, including resizing to a larger Droplet plan of a different kind. For example, you can resize from a Basic Droplet plan to a larger CPU-Optimized Droplet plan. See the Droplet pricing page for a full list of plans and prices.

Hope that this helps! Regards, Alex
