Hi,
My droplet didn’t have no more space so I have decided to add a volume to it. Since the volume was added the website is down and I keep getting an error saying no space left on device. How to fix this error ?

Hi @aimericmoser,
I’m glad you were able to resolve the issue. Can you share what files were taking so much space? Usually, there are 3 possibilities, Log files, sessions, emails, or pictures. Which was in your case?
In any case, what I do usually is start looking at the folder and how big they are from /. If I see something that’s not normal I cd into them and repeat the procedure.
Regards, KDSys
Hi @aimericmoser,
You can resize your Droplet. Resizing a server, also known as vertical scaling, increases the amount of resources a server has. Increasing its memory and CPU improves its performance, and increasing the size of its disk increases the amount of data you can store. The resize however will increase all of your rescourses such as Disk, CPU and RAM.
You can read more about it here:
If you want to extend only your storage, there is another way. You can use Block Storages. Block storage volumes are network-based block devices that provide additional data storage for Droplets. You can move them between Droplets and resize them at any time.
You can read more about hem here:
Hello, all
Have you resized the disk after the droplet was upgraded from the control panel?
I will recommend you to double-check the link which Sri provided:
https://www.digitalocean.com/docs/droplets/how-to/resize/#verifying-disk-resizes
For ext3/4 filesystems, use resize2fs to resize the filesystem.
- resize2fs /dev/vda1
For XFS, use xfs_growfs to resize the filesystem.
- xfs_growfs /dev/vda1
