I added a custom domain to my app, and for days it’s just been saying “configuring” for the status (and the domain isn’t pointing anywhere).

I’m using DO as my DNS host and set up the 3 nameservers to point to my subdomain.

Is this normal?

I’ve tested this and it should not take more than a few minutes as long as the CNAME is correct.

If your CNAME record is correctly added and you are still seeing the problem I could suggest contacting the DigitalOcean support team to further investigate this for you.

    How about an AND? I had my PWA on a droplet, thus my custom domain points to the droplet.

    I wanna use the AP to serve the PWA. I’m adding the domain yet again in the AP side.

    What do I do with the one pointing to the droplet in the networking page?

      I believe that using the first approach with the DigitalOcean nameservers would still allow you to manage your additional DNS records separately.

      You can go to your Network page and add new DNS records for your subdomains and point them to other servers. For example, you could create a DNS record for a pwa.youdomain.com subdomain and point it to your Droplet’s IP.

      The benefit is just that the App Platform will manage the App Platform-related DNS records automatically.

The domain is added to the app immediately. The configuration might take some time based on DNS propagation. The DNS changes can take up to 72 hours to propagate across the internet.

If the root domain points to our nameservers, we recommend you to add the custom domain to the app using the first option of ‘We Manage your Domain’.

In case the issue persists, could you please raise a support ticket to us so that we can have a closer look at it and get it resolved asap.
