Hi all,

I setup a nodejs server on app platform, with the basic plan 10$/monthly, one container setup with no database setup.

I'am a little confused about how the pricing works, on the billing page, i see that the amount increases everyday even though i have not released anything to public. It’s a very small amount like 1$ but i would like to now why ?

I though the costs were fixed fixed per month plus any charges if we reach the outbound transfer limit – $0.10/GB ? I don’t now because the breakdown in too generic. It just says App Platform on the billing page.

Thanks

Hello @DoctorO ,

That’s a great question. There is actually is no difference between monthly and hourly billing!

At the end of each calendar month, we calculate the cost of your server based on the size of your Droplet. All Products are billed at an hourly rate up to a maximum monthly cap, which we have set at 672 hours (28 days). Therefore, if you use the App for less than the monthly cap, you will be billed for each hour that you used it.

However, if you use your server for more than 672 hours during that month, you will be billed at the monthly cost, which will be no greater than the cost of 672 hours. You can learn more about our pricing here:

https://digitalocean.com/pricing

To view your monthly invoice, just navigate to your billing page and look for the line that says Invoice under description. From there, click on the pages icon on the far right to view the PDF Invoice for the month.

Hope this helps!

Cheers,
