I got this notification in my inbox.

Announcing Custom Subdomains with SSL for Spaces CDN.

You can now map a custom subdomain to Spaces CDN, securing it with an automatically provisioned Let’s Encrypt certificate or by uploading your own.

How to set it up?

It’s easy!

Here is a video walkthrough on YouTube:

Here is the official product documentation with instructions:

  • Can we use multiple domains pointing to a single Space account ?
I don’t want to spend $5 / mo for each of my sites’ static content directory.

How about not using subdomain but at actual root domain? We might want to just use space the same way s3 is used for static websites, in which case we want to use a root domain and not a sub-domain.

Thanks for the reply.
I am used a subdomain of a domain with the dns already managed on cloudflare.
If I create a cname record to the space end point it will give a “too many redirection” errors.
Do you have solution for this problem?

I am willing to use the spaces service for my customers, but they all manage their DNS separately as they manage several external services like mail, local services in their company network, … that they are not willing to manage on Digital Ocean.
The easiest would be the ability to point a subdomain to a reverse proxy at Digital Ocean that manages Let’s Encrypt certificates and route to the right space.
