So basically I building an app where users to search for services. The backend (node.js) would be hosted on digital ocean together with the database (MongoDB) There would be customer accounts and accounts for the service providers like tailors, plumbers etc. There would also be chat functionality between the clients and services providers. I anticipate about 100k monthly users. Which plan would be the best to use for now? Thank you. I would also be using nginx as the reverse proxy

This sounds like a great project! One of the awesome things about App Platform is that scaling is built in. You can start with a Basic tier plan, and then scale your app up and eventually move to the Pro tier plan which allows horizontal scaling too. Chat functionality can be done via websockets on App Platform.
An additional note, you probably won’t need the nginx reverse proxy, App Platform will handle your apps core routing already!
