Hello,
I have two DO apps deployed. These are not droplets, they are managed instances of the app platform.
The first DO app points to example.com
I want the second DO app to point to *.example.com
I may have a third app point to docs.example.com
How can I accomplish this? The https://docs.digitalocean.com/products/app-platform/how-to/manage-domains/ tutorial says that the root domain needs to be added to the wildcard subdomain app first. However, that root domain is used for another app and cannot be added through the control panel.
Normally this would be a simple wildcard A record with some NGINX configuration. Is there a way to configure this on DO apps?

Hey @jerrya,
Indeed, with the App Platform, you can add a wildcard record to your app’s domain to redirect queries for non-existent subdomains to the domain’s root.
As workaround here could be to use a subdomain instead, eg:
If this does not work for you, the best thing to do to get your voice heard regarding this would be to head over to the DigitalOcean Product Ideas board and post a new idea, including as much information as possible for what you’d like to see implemented.
Hope that helps!
