Question

Keep the community question space clean

I have a more meta-type of question. So I submitted a question to the community, but it was not very neatly formulated and the answers were not sufficient.

A few days later, I stated a very similar question, but neater formulated, and I received an answer that solved the problem.

Now, I want to remove the question, so that the community question space remains clean. But I can’t seem to be able to do that. Does anyone know which steps to take to remove a question?

Of course, I could answer the first question myself with a redirect, but this seems really messy and is not the preferred option.

Hi @katovonkatz,

I think in this case it would actually be best if you posted an answer to your own question, the original one. A simple summary and a link pointing users to the updated answer would be best here.

You can then mark that answer as accepted to hoist it to the top of the question page, so folks looking for an answer know where to go.

As there are other community answers on your first question, though unhelpful they may be, we generally try to preserve community content and avoid removing it whenever possible.

Hope that helps! - Matt.
