404 Error on Nginx server with php5-fpm

I am getting a 404 error on my Nginx server running wordpress. The following error is on my nginx error log. Does anyone know why I am having this issue. Please let me know what other information would be helpful to add to the questions to diagnose the issue.

Error on Nginx error log:

2016/01/18 20:39:53 [error] 1623#0: *861 open() “/usr/share/nginx/html/50x.html” failed (2: No such file or directory), client: IP-INTENTIONALLY-REMOVED, server: custommortgageinc.com, request: “POST /xmlrpc.php HTTP/1.0”, upstream: “fastcgi://unix:/var/run/php5-fpm.sock”, host: “IP-INTENTIONALLY-REMOVED”

  • Maybe your xmlrpc.php is under attack (pingback/trackback spam). You can check this by renaming the file.
