WordPress Ubuntu 16.04

I am trying to set up my domain (DNS on CloudFlare) to point to a DigitalOcean droplet, but I can't seem to get it to work properly. I have an Ubuntu Droplet, running WordPress, and on CloudFlare, I have configured an A record to point to the IP address of my droplet. When I try to access it, I get a 404 Error. But when try access using IP it is working normal.

domain http://meticonbikes.com/

what should i Do?

thank you

What you need to do is navigate to:
Go to Listeners for Port 80 and 443
Make sure your IP is mapped there
Make sure your domain is mapped there
    Save Changes

    Go to Virtual Host
    Go to Rewrite tab
Under Rewrite Control select “Yes” for both Enable Rewrite and Auto Load from .htaccess
    Save Changes

I have the same problem. Did one click install from DO. Cannot change IP from WP General settings... does not accept Domain name.

May I know how did you install OLS ?

You can also try CyberPanel

Best regards

I have the same problem. Did you fix it?

One other answer to mention here –sorry it's so tardy!– although @qtwrk and @eleu have already been here to help out in the thread and that's awesome, it's useful to note here that OpenLiteSpeed Wordpress is from a DigitalOcean Marketplace vendor, and they should be able to support you more quickly and effectively than we can in the community here. Support details are on the listing at both https://marketplace.digitalocean.com/apps/openlitespeed-wordpress and https://cloud.digitalocean.com/marketplace/5bedf85f599f95343bfaecfc

I've followed the above suggested solutions and while it's not clear I found success by adding mydomain.com (use your domain obviously) to the Example virtual hosts set up. So the virtual host has the IP address and then the domain.

I'm new to server admin and this level of tech so I excuse this if is a dumb question but can I change the Example virtual host name or does this not matter?

My thinking is to create a new virtual host name mydomain.com and then copy the General tab settings from Example, so the vhost still points to /var/www/html for example.

  • HiHi,

No need to change virtual host name, just add the domain to the listener after you point the domain to the server and it should work.

About virtual host name update, it's just easier to identify which VH belongs to.

We can followup on the ticket if you preferred.
