Add a domain alias (Ubuntu)

Posted on May 10, 2014

How do I set up a domain alias?

e.g. Primary domain : example.com Alias: example2.com

I have tried adding CNAME into the primary domain’s DNS:

example2.com example.com.

Also added ServerAlias in apache2/sites-available/example.com

What else do I need to do?

Hello!

www.example.com can be an alias/CNAME from example.com, but example2.com is not possible to be an alias of example.com, as far I know.

Go to DNS and “Add Domain”, putting the name example2.com, and the IP address from the webserver or choose the droplet.

Let me know if it helps.

Best.
