Any ideas how you change 301 redirects from the http to https?

Posted on December 11, 2020

I have an unwanted redirect chain from my HTTP>https>non-www…

PS total newbie - only know a bit about SEO, know nothing about terminals, SFTP etc.

Any spoon-fed, lubed up, simplified advice would be amazing.

Thanks in advance :)

Hi there 👋,

This would depend on a few things:

  • The webserver that you are using, depending on whether if it’s Apache or Nginx, you could follow the steps on how to set up the redirect here:

  • In case that you are using a CMS like WordPress, you would need to adjust your site and home URLs so that they match the exact URL that you want to use as your permanent one.
