App with function + Localhost

Hi guys,

I’m working on an App in DO that uses a couple of functions to store some files in Spaces. Now, to test my functions I have to deploy each time from my GitHub repo. Is there a different workflow I can use to develop and test my functions on localhost and deploy only when needed?

I do not think DO App has an in-built testing for your functions.

Are you able to, from your local machine, upload to Spaces? If so, you should be able to test if the functions work from your local device first.

Perhaps some test cases will be good to verify each time you make changes

Hi there,

Yes, you can use the doctl CLI tool to deploy your functions directly from your laptop to the DigitalOcean sandbox.

You can follow the steps here on how to get started with the Serverless functions and doctl:

Hope that this helps!
