You're need first to connect to your "server machine" e.g. droplet. Read this.
If you want use human-oriented package & dependency manager on OS X there is no alternative but http://brew.sh/

what is droplet?
@navalkishoregr A Droplet is what DigitalOcean calls a VPS, much like how some refer to them as Cloud Servers, Cloud Instances etc.
As for the apt-get command, this is native to Ubuntu & Debian Operating Systems. OSX, Apples' OS, using the installer command, IIRC.
