Just a quick question: are managed databases running on “dedicated” resources or are they running on shared resources like regular droplets?
If they are shared, they I would prefer to setup a dedicated self managed droplet instead.

This is a really interesting question ! I’m quite sure they use Droplets under the hood, but shared or dedicated ? :) Looking at the resources offered by the Managed Databases and comparing to Droplets, it seems it correspond to shared for the lowest price and dedicated for the higher… But not sure about that.
I’m guessing it could be shared as well.
Hence the recent update to require at least one primary key with each table so as to improve speed for the shared instance?
