Question

Are multiple vcpus useful for NodeJS App platforms if I don't specifically use node's cluster?

Basically the title. Does anybody know if the NodeJs App Platform automatically spawns new instances of a node api. Or do i need to implement some custom logic with cluster?

Hi there,

If you deploy your Node.js app on a component with Plan that comes with multiple vCPUs, then your Node.js process will utilize all available vCPUs and you don’t need to manually run more processes within that single component.

In case that you want to scale horizontally by increasing the number of containers for your plan, then you would need to manually specify that:

For more information on how to do that you can follow the steps here:

Hope that this helps!

Best,

Bobby
